For the month of May, the AdvisorShrares New Tech and Media ETF (FNG) was down -10.43% compared to a loss of -6.35% in the S&P 500 and loss of -8.40% in the NASDAQ 100. The “FANG” stocks (Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, Google) were down -10.03% for the month.
FNG is still holding a large position of AMRN (Amarin Corp). Amarin received the much anticipated FDA priority review for their blockbuster drug Vascepa. With the review, AMRN is now looking to have their label expansion by the end of September, expanding Vascepa’s label for use in the areas of triglycerides and other cardiovascular events (stroke, heart attack). With the label expansion the company will now be able to help millions of people with cardiovascular disease which is roughly 60-80 million in the US alone.
Overall, it was a challenging month for the markets as a whole from tariffs to lower revenue’s reported for some of the companies that reported early. China and Mexico remained a headwind for the market and companies doing business in China really felt the pressure.

When the Fund focuses its investments in a particular industry or sector, financial, economic, business, and other developments affecting issuers in that industry, market, or economic sector will have a greater effect on the Fund than if it had not done so. Other Fund risks include market risk, liquidity risk, large cap, mid cap, and small cap risk. Please see prospectus for details regarding risk.
Shares are bought and sold at market price (closing price) not NAV and are not individually redeemed from the Fund.
